We started the journey to Displacement 4 years ago today. It was a rare, rainy and cold day in the LA area, but that didn’t stop us from moving ahead. We spent the day inside Wiznu Studio filming some of the most critical scenes of Cassie (Courtney Hope) and Dr. Miles (Sarah Douglas) in The Initiative.
What a journey it’s been since then! It may have taken over 2 years to film, but it took us no time at all to get Displacement into some film festivals, including the Downtown LA Film Festival, the Boston Sci-Fi Film Festival, the Hollywood Reel Independent Film Festival, the Phoenix Film Festival, and the USA Film Festival. We were honored with awards such as Best Science Fiction Film and Best Supporting Actor for Bruce Davison.
We rounded out our luck in 2016 with a deal that put Displacement on the Lifetime Movie Network and in homes across the US. We also got an international distribution deal so we can be seen all over the world, with more deals to announce very soon.
We want to thank all of our cast and crew and and partners for all their hard work and dedication and support over the last 4 years! Thank you for making Displacement possible!
And thank you to our fans! We can’t wait for you to see what is next.
Onward and upward!
We have officially sailed past the $11,000 mark in our Indiegogo campaign! As a treat for all of our loyal contributors and future contributors (hint, hint!) we are releasing more behind the scenes footage. Watch as we steal a few shots. Remember, if we make our campaign goal, we won’t have to steal shots any more!
Our Indiegogo campaign is building more and more everyday and we are truly thankful to all of you who have helped us! Every dollar you give us helps us to make the best possible movie we can, and it allows you the chance to be a part of it. With that, we are excited to release the newest behind-the-scenes video, a three-minute film school. Check it out here and be sure to donate.
Though we are excited that Zach raised over $3 million via crowdfunding to make his movie, we are asking him to move over to make room for our crowdfunding campaign.
Yes, friends, you read that right. We are launching a crowdfunding campaign for Displacement! Launching this Thursday May 30 on Indiegogo, we are looking to raise $179,000 to help finish the film. We are asking for your help to reach this goal and we have great perks and rewards ready for you!
We’re not ready just yet, but on launch day we will have all the information ready for you at your finger tips, so stay tuned….
Recently, we got a small write up in Max It Magazine, which promotes new indie films. It’s just the beginning for us. Keep watching this space because we are going to unleash some amazing and huge news in the next few weeks.

Here is a great behind the scenes picture of Courtney getting her make up done by our phenomenal make up artist Denise Zamora. We’re excited to be working with her! Not only is she great with make up, but she helped fix the Jeep too. She is multi-talented! Photo by Emily Whalen, Location Burbank, CA.
Things are hopping here at the Maderfilm offices. We’re so excited about the footage from this weekend, and we are excited to share more of it with you next week. Ken’s been hard at work editing, while Emily has been hard at work getting the word out. This is where you come in. Be sure to pass on the news about Displacement to your friends. Share us on Facebook, retweet us on Twitter, reblog us here on WordPress, let’s let everyone know about this exciting film.
